For our next trick, we’re heading back to O’Brien’s Pub — one of the last great punk rock dive bars left in Ye Olde Allston Rock City. But it’s not just any ol’ Tuesday night show: we’ll be joined by one of our absolute favorite DIY pop-punk bands, New York City’s very own Baby Got Back Talk, masters of sick riffs and scathing socio-political poetry alike.

I’ve been a fan of BGBT for years, and have been friendly online with singer G’Ra for about as long, so we’re particularly pumped to finally make this punk rock connection happen IRL. Also, we’re both Emerson Alums; in fact, the song that made me fall in love with the band is a brilliant takedown of the performative liberalism of majority white art schools like our own. It’s catchy, insightful, and thought-provoking — everything you want in a good punk rock song!
Rounding out the bill will be Orbiter, a Boston punk band we’ve been meaning to play with for a while. The legendary Salem Wolves will be closing out the evening, and it’s out first time playing with them as well. We’re excited about that not only because of their recent Boston Music Awards nomination, but also because our very own Chris Correia can now be found behind their drum set as well! (No hard feelings there, we’re happy to share his talents.)
