Our song “Face It, Tiger” has barely been out in the world for a week, but it’s already gaining steam. The kind folks at If It’s Too Loud wrote the words that we’d always been hoping to hear:
The kind of song that might possibly be too catchy. It lands somewhere in the middle of pop punk and alt-rock. It’s as melodic and as memorable as the best of Fountains of Wayne, but with a little more of an edge
Well damn, we’ll take it!
Rock & Roll Fables were also quite generous, calling it a:
…timeless slab of thumping Alt-Americana … [with a] crunchy Green Day a la “Brain Stew” breakdown … “Face It, Tiger” is just that spectacular. Amazing even!
Tarasko called it, “wonderful and sensual pop punk,” and said that, “the production is quite good, everything is mixed perfectly.” Alt77 said, “This is great power-pop.” mp3Hugger called it, “ideal fare for getting the party started, getting the long distance trip on the road or even striking up the moshpit,” comparing it to REM, “but only a version of that act that has thrown caution to the wind.”
We also got some nice coverage from Rockola Indie and Punkeando but my Spanish is terrible and the Google translate versions are even worse, so you’ll just have to take my word for it.
Finally, there’s been a litany of playlist adds — Rockin Too Hard, ROCK 2024 🎸 LO MÁS NUEVO, VIAJAR CON ROCK, Folk Rock Alchemist’s Indie Rock collection, the Miracle Playlist, PUNK NEVER DIES, Tyler’s Time Capsule, Rockin’ Indie Anthems, and more.
